Beaman Law

Justice for Working People.

Justicia Para el Pueblo Trabajador -- Justice for Working People

Beaman Law is the independent law practice of attorney Megan Beaman, rooted in the notion that all people deserve access to justice and enforcement of basic rights. Beaman Law's practice is founded on Megan's years of advocacy and activism in working class and immigrant communities, including the recent many years of successful representation of rural communities in Coachella Valley, Imperial Valley, and other parts of California. Beaman Law represents clients and communities in enforcing their rights in the areas of employment, housing, immigration, civil rights, and policy -- all with the understanding of the larger struggles for immigrant and worker justice in California and nationwide.

Megan Beaman a committed and innovative attorney and advocate who has spent the better part of her life fighting for the rights of individuals, communities, and organizations.  Megan became an attorney in order to maximize the level of skills she was able to contribute to these efforts, and in her practice of law she has represented her clients and client communities in a complete range of settings: from federal court litigation to spontaneous community meetings.

Megan is widely recognized for her committed, sensitive, and innovative representation of clients and communities; her countless large and small victories for her clients; and her rapid growth as a leader in the Coachella Valley and California.  She formed Beaman Law in 2012 in an effort to serve more clients, more effectively, in more communities and contexts.

Prior to founding Beaman Law, Megan practiced for years in a non-profit legal assistance corporation that served rural Californians and particularly farmworkers.  In that role, Megan lead statewide and national initiatives to shape policies to protect and improve rural communities.  She also engaged in challenging administrative, state, and federal litigation on behalf of her clients, achieving many unexpected and even precedent-setting victories for her clients.  Megan also has a long history of volunteerism and community committment in partnership with other non-profits and leaders.

Megan comes from a rural working-class family and learned through life experience about some of the many challenges facing workers, families, and communities who are regularly excluded from the legal system.  Her parents and family instilled in her not only the values of education, respect, sensitivity, and hard work; but also the ability to recognize unfairness, and the drive to rectify it.
