Christy Gilbert Holstege is an unstoppable attorney and public servant, whose tenacious representation of clients and communities is well known around the state of California.  Christy has deep experience in representation of clients with limited resources, who often face the starkest challenges, including victims of domestic violence, injured workers, and disabled and differently-abled individuals.   Her advocacy further includes careful consideration of the problems facing California communities of all types, and thoughtful approaches to resolution.

As a public servant, Christy has led in numerous way, including as the first bisexual mayor in the United States, and in groundbreaking and progressive policy development.  Included among her victories are advances in homeless community services and affordable housing, enhanced COVID19 protections and hazard pay, Palm Springs Section 14 survivor advocacy, small business support, and more. 

 

Christy completed her Juris Doctorate degree at Stanford Law School, and her Bachelors of Arts at University of California, Santa Barbara.

Resort Workers v. Large Corporate Employer*

Achieved $5 million settlement in representation of California banquet workers, servers, and other resort hospitality workers who experienced wage theft by their large corporate employer.

Construction Workers v. Large Corporate Employer*

Achieved $2 million settlement for Southern California construction workers who were systematically unpaid by their large corporate employer.  

Longtime Employees v. Corporate Employer*

Achieved $1 million settlement, collectively, for two longtime employees who were terminated after they stood up for their rights in the workplace.

Agricultural and Landscaping Worker Cases

Over $3 million recovered in numerous cases for individual farmworkers and landscaping employees who have suffered discrimination and been terminated after becoming injured and disabled due to the physical demands of their job.
