ABOUT THIS POLICY

This policy describes how Beaman Jacinto Law, P.C. uses information it collects on its websites where this policy is posted. It also applies to outreach, informational, and marketing emails we send as well as to our interactions with our clients and potential clients. This policy does not apply to our use of employee information. 

NOTICE AT COLLECTION

The type of personal information we collect depends on your interactions and relationship with us. We may collect:

  • Contact information: Name, email address, phone number, and postal address

  • Other identifying information: partial social security number or in some cases, driver’s license numbers

  • Demographic information: Race, gender, national origin, age, religion or creed, marital status, physical or mental disability, immigration status, sex (including gender, gender identity, gender expression, sexual orientation, and veteran or military status

We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information, as defined by California law, for inferring characteristics or for purposes other than those permitted by law. We keep these categories of personal information as long as necessary or relevant for the purposes for which it was collected. We also keep information as required by law.

We Use Your Information As Described

We use your personal information for the following business and commercial purposes:

  • Transactional Purposes: We use your information to contact you and respond to your requests and inquiries. We use your information in order to communicate with you. 

  • Analytical Purposes: We use your other information to analyze preferences, trends and statistics about the use of our site.

  • Maintenance and Improvement of Services and Website: We use your information to answer your questions and respond to queries. We also use your information to improve our websites and to provide and maintain functionality on our websites. For example, to help us diagnose technical problems, service problems, and administer our websites.

  • Security and Fraud Prevention: We use your information to protect our websites, our firm and others, and to prevent fraud, theft and misconduct.

  • Legal: We use your information to comply with our legal obligations, including reporting requirements. We also use your information to defend our firm, property, and others through legal proceedings.

We use information as otherwise permitted by law (or as we may notify you).

Sources of Personal Information

We collect contact information directly from you. This includes information you provide when you contact us, or submit a job application. We also collect information from you if sign up for email communications, or otherwise submit it to us. This could be in person. It may also be over the phone or online or on a hard copy document.

We collect information from you passively: We collect Internet and other electronic activity passively using tools like browser cookies and web beacons. We may work with others to gather information on our platforms and elsewhere. We may do this on our websites and in emails that we send to you. This activity is further described our Cookie and Advertising Policy.

We collect information about you from third parties: We may collect other identifying information and contact information from third parties. This might include our clients, social media websites, previous employers, your healthcare provider, institutions, your legal or financial advisors and your bank.

Combining Information: We combine information we obtain from different sources with publicly available information.

WE DO NOT DISCLOSE INFORMATION TP OTHERS

We do not share any categories of information gathered through our website with others.

Additional information for California, Nevada and Virginia residents. California, Nevada, and Virginia law require that we tell you if we share personal information or “sell” personal information with a third party for monetary or (in California) other valuable consideration. We do not sell information in this way. 

YOU HAVE CERTAIN CHOICES AND MAY HAVE CERTAIN RIGHTS

If you live in California or Virginia, or a state with a similar law, you may have the following additional legal rights:

  1. Access: to learn the categories of information we collect and use, and for those in California, the categories of sources of collection and disclosure and the business purpose for collection;

  2. Portability: a copy of (Virginia) or specific pieces of (California) personal information collected;

  3. Deletion: to have us delete information we collected from you;

  4. Correction: asking us to fix your information; and

  5. Non-retaliation: not to be discriminated against for exercising a privacy right.

How it works: To submit a request please send an email to admin@beaman-law.com. You can also call us at 760-698-9626 to submit your request by phone.

For all requests, you must provide us with your name, email address and phone number. Failure to provide all of the foregoing information will prevent us from processing your request. To verify your identity we match information you provide to the information we have in our systems. To designate an authorized agent to act on your behalf, you must send a signed, written authorization to us at privacy@sheppard.com.

In some situations we may not be able to process your request. This may include if a legal exception applies. If you disagree with our decision you can contact us as described at the end of this policy.

Nevada residents: You may also opt out of the future sale of their information to a third party so that they may license or sell that information by emailing us at noted at the end of this notice.

Third party agents: If you are submitting a request on behalf of an eligible resident, we may ask for additional information to verify your identity. This may include providing proof that you are registered with the Secretary of State to act on someone’s behalf or proof of a power of attorney.

INFORMATION IS STORED IN THE UNITED STATES

Information we collect is stored in the United States. If you are located outside of the United States be aware that information you submit will be transferred to the United States and you consent to this transfer. 

SECURITY MEASURES

We use reasonable security as required by applicable law. No website is completely secure, however. We encourage you to use websites and share information with caution.

OUR WEBSITE MAY HAVE THIRD PARTY LINKS

Our website may have links to third party content. We do not control that content or the third party’s privacy practices. We encourage you to read their privacy policies to understand how they use your information.

INFORMATION COLLECTION FROM CHILDREN

Our website is not directed to children under the age of 13 (if you are located in the United States) and under the age of 16 (if you are located outside the United States). We do not knowingly collect information, including personal information, from children. If we obtain actual knowledge that we have collected personal information from someone under the applicable age listed above, we will promptly delete it. If you believe that we have mistakenly collected information from someone under the applicable age listed above, please contact us at admin@beaman-law.com.

Terms of Use

"Beaman-Jacinto Law P.C." refers to the California Professional Corporation by the same name. In accordance with the common terminology used in professional service organizations, we use the term "partner" in this website to refer to a person who is a member, partner or person of equivalent standing or authority in an individual practicing entity.

If you choose to access the Site from other locations, you do so at your own risk and are solely responsible for compliance with any and all applicable laws, rules and regulations. You may not use or export any of the Site materials in violation of U.S. export laws and regulations. Any claim related to the use of the Site or to the Site materials shall be governed by, construed and enforced in accordance with the laws of the State of California as applied to agreements made and to be performed entirely therein.
